ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Kevin BLONDEL grew up reading and making comics — adapting his favorite animated series before eventually writing his own stories.
He left for Belgium to study sequential art under the supervision of Antonio COSSU (ALCEISTER CROWLEY, BOSKOVICH) at the Académie des Beaux-Arts de Tournai.
A former bookseller, now embarking on a self publishing journey — under the Rainfall Publishing label — to promote his graphic novels.
Among other projects, he also organizes conferences and workshops around the ninth art while producing music in his spare time.
"We seek to introduce readers to ancient traditions and philosophies through entertaining stories."
We provide books exploring the minds of troubled characters — often haunted by repressed traumas — sometimes lost in a world they don't understand — people who seek peace and purpose.
Their search for meaning soon takes them on a journey through time — as cultural heritage and local folklore help them explore forgotten beliefs to overcome the tragedies they face and grow from these experiences.
"LONE WOLF & CUB meets SILENT HILL."
Inspired by various research and supported by rich documentation, the adventures narrated in these volumes feature a complete glossary and extensive articles to develop the themes explored within those pages further.
Quotes from relevant essays and references to popular texts provide additional resources to the reader — who wishes to explore those ideas beyond the novel.
"Enlighten the reader... one panel at a time."
Since its origins in the Nineteenth Century, Sequential Art remains overlooked as a powerful literary genre — despite the support of renowned theorists and its undeniable influence on popular culture.
We aim to explore the exclusive properties of the medium and present impactful stories through a diligent application of its specificities.
"Showcase the narrative possibilities of Sequential Art."
Students of the Ninth Art, we build our work upon the legacy of groundbreaking artists -- who dedicated their lives to pushing the boundaries of what is achievable in the field.
We develop mature subjects first explored in the page of EC COMICS. We chose the graphic novel format praised by Will EISNER. We educate the reader on History similarly to the Kazuo KOIKE method.
Our layouts are influenced by Bernie KRIGSTEIN's artistic experiments, our artworks by Goseki KOJIMA's expressive ink line, our narration by Frank MILLER's hardboiled monologs, and our character designs by Michael TURNER's unique sensibility.
